B.J. Monteiro scored 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and Sean Johnson also scored 24 points as Duquesne routed Houston Baptist 118-72 in a nonconference game Saturday.

Jerry Jones contributed 19 points and T.J. McConnell had nine assists for the Dukes (9-5), who posted their highest score since a 129-59 victory over Howard on Nov. 9, 2007.

Duquesne outscored the Huskies (5-8) 34-14 over the final 9:42 of the first half to take a 52-31 halftime lead, then scored 66 second-half points.

The Dukes shot 57.9 percent (44 of 76) from the field, including 62.5 percent (25 of 40) in the second half, and were 8 of 17 on 3-pointers in the game.

Terry Bembry scored 16 points for Houston Baptist, making 7 of 11 shots, but his teammates made just 18 of 64 as the Huskies shot 33.3 percent (25 of 75) overall.

Duquesne also outrebounded Houston Baptist 55-39.
