Dunbar leads Navy past Lafayette in Patriot League tourney

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) Tilman Dunbar made 13 of 14 free throws and finished with 22 points and eight assists, while Shawn Anderson scored 21 with four assists and three steals to help No. 7 seed Navy beat 10th-seeded Lafayette in the first round of the Patriot League tournament on Tuesday night.

The Midshipmen, who snapped a four-game skid, will play No. 2 seed Lehigh (15-14) in the quarterfinals Thursday night.

Tom Lacey had 12 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, and Zach Fong scored nine, all on 3-pointers, for Navy (19-13).

Bryce Scott hit seven 3s and finished with 29 points to lead Lafayette (6-24). Monty Boykins added 14 points and Matt Klinewski scored 10.

Boykins hit a 3 to pull Lafayette within six with 1:46 to play, but Dunbar made 4 of 4 foul shots from there and Navy held on.

The Midshipmen outrebounded Lafayette 41-27.
