Samme Givens scored 23 points and recorded a double-double Saturday as Drexel downed Delaware 71-55 in Colonial Athletic Association action.

For the first-place Dragons (17-5, 9-2), it was their ninth consecutive CAA victory, 15th in their last 16 games overall. It avenged a 71-60 loss at Delaware on Dec. 3.

Drexel asserted itself midway through the first half to lead 38-26 at halftime. The Dragons led by as many as 18 points, 54-36, in winning its 13th straight at home.

Givens had 10 rebounds for his double-double. Frantz Massenat scored 19 points and Chris Fouch 10. Daryl McKoy grabbed 11 rebounds.

Devon Saddler scored 22 points for Delaware (9-12, 5-6). Jarvis Threat was the only other Blue Hen in double figures with 16.

Drexel's typically tough defense limited Delaware to just 17 field goals in 50 attempts (34 percent). The Dragons shot 25 for 53 (47.2 percent) from the floor.
