Dickerson, Haywood lead Delaware St. past Coppin St. 71-67

BALTIMORE (AP) Aric Dickerson and DeAndre Haywood scored 13 points apiece to help Delaware State beat Coppin State 71-67 Monday night for the Hornets' first road win of the season.

Devin Morgan Jr had 10 points for Delaware State, which has won back-to-back games for the second time this season and improved to 1-15 on the road.

Haywood made 6 of 12 from the field and Dickerson hit 5 of 7, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, as the Hornets (6-20, 4-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) hit 28 of 57 overall and 8 of 16 from behind the arc.

Terry Harris Jr. led Coppin State (6-19, 4-7) with 18 points and added eight rebounds. Trevon Seymore had 11 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals, while Joshua Treadwell and Christian Kessee scored 10 apiece.

The Eagles shot 39.6 percent (21 of 53) from the field and 23.8 percent (5 of 21) from 3-point range.
