Diagne, Coastal Carolina pull away, beat Longwood 72-59

FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) Badou Diagne had 11 points and 12 rebounds, and four more Coastal Carolina players scored in double figures to lead the Chanticleers to a 72-59 win over Longwood on Monday night.

Shivaughn Wiggins scored 14, Josh Cameron and Marcus Freeman added 13 apiece and Elijah Wilson had 10 points for Coastal Carolina (21-8, 12-5 Big South), which sits a half-game back of High Point and Charleston Southern for first in the Big South.

Leron Fisher and Quincy Taylor scored 15 points apiece for Longwood (8-22, 4-13), which made 21 of 57 (36.8 percent) field goals. Taylor was 5-of-22 shooting, including 3-of-12 from behind the arc.

Coastal Carolina, which shot 65 percent from the field after halftime, used a 22-6 run to open the second half and take 53-37 lead with 14 minutes to play.

Longwood cut the deficit to seven a couple of times, but would get no closer.
