Eli Holman scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as Detroit defeated Albany (N.Y.) 84-82 in double overtime on Friday night in the Legends Classic.
Holman scored six of the Titans' 12 points in the second overtime, helping to build a six-point lead.
The Great Danes closed to 81-80 on a Billy Allen 3-pointer with 1:01 to go, then Detroit's Donavan Foster hit a jumper with 15 seconds left.
Jacob Iati's layup cut it to 83-82 with 8 seconds to go. Ray McCallum hit 1 of 2 foul shots a second later and Albany's Ralph Watts missed the potential game-winning 3 as time expired.
Albany (1-5) hit 14 of 27 3-pointers in the game, compared to 4 of 19 for Detroit. A buzzer-beating 3 by Mike Black tied the score at 68 to end regulation and Allen hit a last-second 3 at the end of the first OT.
Logan Aronhalt and Tim Ambrose scored 18 apiece for the Great Danes.
