Delaware 67, Hofstra 66
Jamelle Hagins notched a double-double for Delaware and Hofstra couldn't sink a potential game-tying free throw in the game's final seconds, sending the Blue Hens to a 67-66 win on Wednesday night.
Hagins, who finished with team highs of 21 points and 18 rebounds, had a chance to give Delaware a bigger cushion as he stepped to the free-throw line in the game's final second, just 19 seconds after he knocked down a pair of foul shots for Delaware's final points. He went 0-for-2.
Still, the end of the contest could have been much different, as Hofstra's Shemiye McLendon stepped to the charity stripe with 2 seconds left and the Pride trailing by two points. He hit the first free throw but missed the second, giving the win to Delaware (6-7, 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association).
Mike Moore scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Pride (6-9, 0-3).
