Devon Saddler scored 16 points and Delaware swept its season series against William & Mary with a 59-55 victory Wednesday night.

It took the Blue Hens (11-9, 6-4 Colonial Athletic Association) nearly seven minutes to overcome a three-point halftime deficit and take the lead for good. Jawan Carter's free throws with 11:26 to play put Delaware ahead 38-37.

The Tribe (6-15, 2-8), which also lost the first meeting 61-48 at Delaware on Jan. 5, trailed by eight points before rallying. They pulled to within two on three occasions in the final 20 seconds, but fell short. Alphonso Dawson's free throws with 1 second left sealed the victory.

Marcus Kitts led William & Mary with 12 points, while Brandon Britt and Quinn McDowell each added 11. Julian Boatner contributed 10 points.

The game featured only 13 free-throw attempts - Delaware went 9 of 11 and the Tribe went 1 of 2.
