Davidson 68, The Citadel 53
Jake Cohen scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help Davidson run away from The Citadel 68-53 in Southern Conference play on Saturday.
The Wildcats (4-4, 1-1) shot 12 for 26 from the floor (46.2 percent) in the opening half and led 30-26 at the break despite being outscored 16-8 in the paint and 8-0 on fast break points.
Davidson started the second half on an 8-2 run to push its lead to 10, 38-28, as The Citadel never trailed by less than eight the rest of the way.
JP Kuhlman added 13 points for the Wildcats and Tom Droney had 10.
The Citadel (2-5, 1-1) turned the ball over 18 times, resulting in 21 points for the Wildcats. The Bulldogs had only six points off Davidson turnovers.
Mike Groselle scored 13 points off the bench to lead the Bulldogs, who shot just 9 for 31 from the floor (29 percent) after halftime. Zach Urbanus added 12 and Austin Dahn 11.
