Alex Johnson scored 18 points and CS Bakersfield beat Pepperdine 66-64 Saturday.

The Roadrunners (2-2) withstood two late Pepperdine (1-3) shot attempts with Stephon Carter blocking a Lorne Jackson layup with .7 seconds to play, and the following Mychel Thompson missed a layup on the following in-bounds play.

Johnson finished with four 3-pointers, four assists and three rebounds. Donavan Bragg scored 12 points, while Cory Brown had 11 points and five rebounds.

Carter added 10 points, five assists and two rebounds.

Keion Bell finished with 26 points for the Waves. Bell also pulled down four rebounds and had two assists.
