Jahenns Manigat scored a career-high 18 points and Creighton had six players score in double figures Friday night en route to a 97-65 victory over North Carolina AT&T in both teams' season opener.
The Bluejays raced to an 11-0 lead after four possessions only to see North Carolina AT&T answer with its own 11-0 run. Creighton followed with a 13-2 run to go on top 24-13 en route to a 46-28 halftime lead.
Doug McDermott and Will Artino scored 13 points apiece for Creighton; Antoine Young had 11 points and eight assists; Avery Dingman added 11 points; and Grant Gibbs had career highs with 10 points and nine rebounds. The Bluejays shot 48.5 percent from the field and had 28 assists as a team.
North Carolina A&T, which returned four starters from a 15-win team a year ago, was led by Austin Witter with nine points.
