Coll. of Charleston 73, Furman 54
Andrew Goudelock scored 29 points to lead College of Charleston to a 73-54 victory over Furman on Saturday.
Donavan Monroe added 17 points as the Cougars (17-7, 10-2 Southern Conference), who have won five of their past six, remained in first place in the South Division.
College of Charleston led throughout and shot 56.9 percent from the field (29 of 51) to hand Furman (17-7, 9-4) only its second loss in eight games.
The Cougars pulled away with a 15-2 run that spanned halftime and was capped by Goudelock's 3-pointer for a 43-23 lead with 19:27 to play. Another 3-pointer from Goudelock gave the Cougars a 58-35 lead with 12:28 left.
Trent Wiedeman added 11 points for College of Charleston, which swept the season series with Furman.
Amu Saaka led the Paladins, who shot 39.3 percent (22 of 56), with 18 points, and Colin Reddick added 11.
