Coastal Carolina 71, Charleston Southern 58

Chris Gradnigo scored a career-high 24 points off the bench, including a pair of highlight reel dunks, and Coastal Carolina defeated Charleston Southern 71-58 Saturday to win its fourth straight game and sweep the season series.

Trailing 21-17 at the 5:37 mark, the Chanticleers (17-5, 10-2 Big South Conference) went on a 22-7 run spanning both halves to lead 39-28 with 17:50 remaining. The Buccaneers could get no closer than six from there.

Coastal Carolina, ranked second in the NCAA in field goal percentage (50 percent), shot 51.1 percent (24 of 47) compared to 30.3 percent (20 of 66) for Charleston Southern.

The Chanticleers, who beat Charleston Southern 80-77 in overtime on Jan. 7, have not allowed an opponent to shoot 50 percent or better through 22 games.

Kierre Greenwood added 19 points and Anthony Raffa 15 for Coastal Carolina.

Arlon Harper led the Buccaneers (14-9, 8-5) with 22 points.
