EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) Chris Clemons scored 26 points to lead Campbell over SIU-Edwardsville 77-74 on Tuesday.
The freshman was 8-of-14 shooting, including 4 of 8 beyond the arc and perfect on six attempts from the line. He's scored in double figures in each of his first four games. Troy Harper had 12 points and Kyre' Hamer added 10.
C.J. Carr led SIU-Edwardsville (1-3) with 14 points. Grant Fiorentinos had 13 points, Burak Eslik added 12 points and Yemi Makanjuola had seven points and 11 boards.
Edwardsville led by eight after Carlos Anderson's layup with 9:05 left. But Campbell went on a 14-2 run over the next seven minutes to go up five points with 2:12 left. Carr's free throw with 30 seconds to go made it 75-74, but Hamer made a pair at the line and Carr's 3-pointer at the buzzer failed.
Edwardsville led 41-39 at the break.
