Clareth scores 16, Siena beats St. Peter's 69-52
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (AP) Nico Clareth scored 16 and Javion Ogunyemi added 14 points to help Siena beat St. Peter's 69-52 Friday night.
Ryan Oliver had 11 points, Lavon Long scored nine with 10 rebounds and Brett Bisping added nine and nine for Siena.
The Saints (16-8, 9-4 Metro Atlantic) led 41-30 with 16 minutes to play but Cameron Jones hit a 3 and Antwon Portley made another to spark a 10-2 run and pull St. Peter's within three with 13 minutes left.
Long converted a 3-point play and Clareth hit a jumper as Siena scored 22 of the next 26 and pushed its lead to 65-44 with 3:43 to go and cruised from there.
Quadir Welton had 17 points, on 8-of-11 shooting, and eight rebounds to lead the Peacocks (8-13, 6-6).
Sienna shot 50 percent from the field while St. Peter's hit 22 of 62 (35.5 percent), including 4 of 23 from 3-point range.
