Arlon Harper led six Charleston Southern players in double figures with 19 points as the Buccaneers defeated The Citadel 88-69 on Wednesday night.

Mathiang Muo added 16 points, Saah Nimley had 15, Paul Gombwer 12, Sheldon Strickland 11 and Kelvin Martin had 13 points and 17 rebounds for the Buccaneers (6-3), who have won six of their past seven games.

Charleston Southern had its second-best shooting night of the season, making 54.4 percent (37 of 68) from the field. Harper set the tone, making 7 of 9. The Buccaneers outrebounded The Citadel 42-34.

The Buccaneers took control with a 16-0 run to close out the first half for a 43-33 lead. Charleston Southern led by at least eight points the entire second half.

Ashton Moore scored 18 points, Mike Groselle added 15 and Deovntae Wright had 11 for the Bulldogs (2-7), who lost their fifth game in a row.
