Central Connecticut State tops Robert Morris 68-53

Three players scored 63 of Central Connecticut State's 68 points in the Blue Devils' 68-63 victory over Robert Morris on Saturday in Northeast Conference action.

Robby Ptacek scored 24 points, 14 in the first half as CCSU (7-7, 4-0) led 32-28 at halftime. Ken Horton finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Kyle Vinales scored 18 points as CCSU outscored Robert Morris (12-5, 3-1) 36-25 in the second half.

In the first half, CCSU hit 12 of 21 shots from the floor, including 4 for 8 on 3-pointers. The Colonials, meanwhile, were just 10 of 29 (34.5 percent) and made just one of five 3-pointers.

Russell Johnson scored 13 points to pace Robert Morris, which made 20 of 66 from the field and just 2 of 15 treys. CCSU was 22 of 46 from the floor, 8 of 18 beyond the arc. Ptacek sank five 3-pointers, Vinales three.
