Central Arkansas beats Southeastern Louisiana 88-72

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) Jordan Howard scored 24 points and made 12 of 13 free throws, Derreck Brooks added 18 points with four 3-pointers and Central Arkansas beat Southeastern Louisiana 88-72 on Tuesday night.

Howard's 3-pointer sparked an 11-0 run and Central Arkansas extended a six-point halftime lead to a 75-53 margin with 5:27 left.

The Lions gained on a 7-2 run in which Marlain Veal hit a 3 to trim the deficit to 15. JaMichael Hawkins and Joshua Filomre each hit 3s to pull the Lions within 86-72 before Howard iced it with two free throws.

Mathieu Kamba scored 15 with two steals and two blocks, Justin Foreman added 11 points and Jake Zuilhof 10. The Bears (5-15, 4-6 Southland) made 31 of 42 free throws and never trailed in avenging a 94-83 loss to the Lions on Jan. 25.

Dimi Cook scored 15 with a career-high four steals for the Lions (5-18, 3-7).
