Canisius 90, S. Dakota 80
Alshwan Hymes had 26 points and Harold Washington scored 24 as Canisius defeated South Dakota 90-80 in overtime on Sunday.
Kevin Bleeker added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Golden Griffins (2-8), who tied the game on Hymes' 3-pointer with 9 seconds left in regulation, then scored 19 points in the extra 5-minute period.
Washington's only 3-pointer of the game, with 2:32 left in overtime, gave the Golden Griffins the lead for good at 81-78, and began a game-ending 12-2 Canisius run.
Josiah Heath had 15 rebounds for Canisius.
Charlie Westbrook led the Coyotes (4-6) with 21 points. Steve Tecker scored 13, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 26 seconds left before Hymes' game-tying 3-point basket. Louie Krogman scored 12 and Trevor Gruis added 11 points for South Dakota.
The teams also played in Buffalo on Dec. 8, with South Dakota winning 67-55.
