Cal State Bakersfield handles Grand Canyon 77-62

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) Kevin Mays scored 21 points and hauled in 10 rebounds to lead Cal State Bakersfield to a 77-62 win over Grand Canyon on Saturday night.

Dedrick Basile added 19 points with seven assists for Bakersfield (20-8, 10-3 Western Athletic Conference) and Damiyne Durham had 15 points. The Roadrunners shot 48 percent from the field (30 of 62) to end Grand Canyon's five-game win streak and move alongside the Antelopes in second place with one game left in the regular season.

Bakersfield took the lead for good midway through the first half with an 8-0 spurt that included 3-pointers from Basile and Durham to make it 23-15. The Roadrunners took a 36-25 advantage into the break and the margin stayed at double figures the rest of the way.

De'Andre Davis led Grand Canyon (24-5, 10-3) with 16 points, Grandy Glaze added 12 with 12 rebounds and Matt Jackson had 10 points.
