Cal not approached about Dominican team

Kentucky coach John Calipari says he has not been contacted about the possibility of coaching the Dominican Republic's national basketball team.

Calipari said Tuesday that he first heard the rumor when his daughter read about it on the Internet and asked him if it were true.

Though Calipari said it would be ''an honor'' to coach for an international team, he's not sure he has the time to devote to the position because of the way it would cut into his recruiting time.

Calipari's comments came a day after Louisville coach Rick Pitino agreed to coach the Puerto Rico national team next summer.
