BYU's Fredette gets 32 in first half

BYU senior guard Jimmer Fredette scored 32 points in the first half against Utah on Tuesday night, the 13th 30-point game of his career.

Fredette hot a 40-foot buzzer-beater at halftime to get to 32 points. He was 5 of 6 on 3-pointers and 10 of 15 from the field as the 11th-ranked Cougars took a 53-42 lead.

BYU's Jackson Emery broke Danny Ainge's career steals record set 30 years ago.

Emery, who entered the game tied with Ainge with 195 steal, set the record at the 12:47 mark of the first half. He passed ahead to Fredette for a fastbreak layup.
