Burton scores 20 points as Wagner beats LIU Brooklyn 60-47

NEW YORK (AP) Marcus Burton scored 20 points, and Stedman Allen finished with a double-double to help Wagner beat LIU Brooklyn 60-47 on Saturday.

Wagner (10-17, 8-8 Northeast Conference) bounced back after losing to Bryant 66-65 on Thursday night, and pulls into a three-way tie for fifth place in the conference with LIU Brooklyn (12-15, 8-8) and St. Francis (14-13, 8-8).

Burton shot 9 of 21 from the floor and Allen scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Wagner jumped out to a 22-11 lead midway through the first half and led by double digits the rest of the way.

Glenn Feidanga led LIU Brooklyn with eight points as the Blackbirds shot just 12 of 54 from the floor (22.2 percent) and 4 of 19 from long range (21 percent). The Blackbirds have lost back-to-back games since having its four-game win streak snapped.
