Byron Mulkey scored a career-high 23 points to help Buffalo defeat Canisius 81-64 on Tuesday night.
The Bulls (3-1) led 42-29 at halftime thanks to 16-of-25 shooting (64 percent) in the first half. Buffalo extended its lead after halftime, shooting 13 for 26 in the second half (50 percent) and finishing 29 of 51 (56.9 percent) for the game.
The Griffins (2-2) shot 11 for 28 from the floor in the first half (39.3 percent) en route to the 13-point halftime deficit. Canisius was outrebounded 36-25 and surrendered 38 points in the paint.
Elton Frazier led Canisius with 14 points, while Julius Coles added 12 in the loss.
The Bulls shot 6 for 13 from behind the arc (46.2 percent) and scored 20 points off 16 Canisius turnovers.
Zach Filzen scored 13 Mitchell Watt added 12 for Buffalo in the victory.
