BOSTON (AP) Dom Morris scored 16 points and gathered seven rebounds as Boston U defeated American U 71-62 on Wednesday.

The first-place Terriers (20-8, 13-2) moved two games ahead of the Eagles (15-11, 11-4) in Patriot League play.

Boston U got 13 points and seven assists from Maurice Watson Jr.

The teams started cold, as Jesse Reed's 3-pointer on the first possession of the game stood as the only points in the first 2:46 of the game. American built a 10-point lead on Darius Gardner's 3-pointer, but the Terriers scored the last eight points of the half to trail by just one at the break, 32-31.

A 10-2 run, including a 3-pointer by Cedric Hankerson, gave Boston U an eight-point lead midway through the second half and American never got closer than five points down the stretch.

Tony Wroblicky and Reed both scored 13 for American.
