Boston defeats Northeastern 69-64 in overtime
John Holland scored four points in the final 6 seconds in overtime and Boston defeated Northeastern 69-64 on Wednesday. The Terriers (2-4) began the overtime period on an 8-1 run for a 61-54 advantage before Northeastern answered with a 10-2 spurt. The Huskies (1-2) regained the lead, 64-63, on two free throws by Alwayne Bigby with 1:14 remaining. But Boston took the lead for good on Jake O'Brien's jumper with 51 seconds left. Holland followed with a dunk and two free throws. Corey Lowe sent the game into overtime on a jumper with 23 seconds left in regulation, capping an 8-2 Terriers' run. Lowe and O'Brien added 18 points each for the Terriers. Boston made 5 of 8 shots (62.5 percent) and Holland scored seven of his 15 points in overtime. The Huskies were led by Matt Janning with 18 points, Alwayne Bigby with 16 and Baptiste Bataille with 10.
