Binghamton handles Hartwick 82-51

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) Dusan Perovic scored 18 points in 21 minutes and Binghamton won its home opener 82-51 over Division III Hartwick.

Perovic was 2 of 3 from 3-point range and 8 of 12 overall for the Bearcats (1-2). Yosef Yacob added three 3-pointers and finished with 14 points.

Binghamton opened the second half on a 12-4 run, going ahead 53-29 on Romello Walker's layup with 16:44 left. Walker had nine points, five rebounds and five assists.

Matt Wilson's layup for Hartwick stopped the run at 53-31, but the Hawks would get no closer.

Wilson finished with 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting, leading Hartwick which shot 16 of 48. None of Wilson's teammates made more than two field goals.

The Bearcats scored 11-straight midway through the first on their way to a 14-25 halftime lead.
