Belmont beats SIU-Edwardsville 73-69

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Craig Bradshaw scored 26 points and dished out six assists and Belmont held on to beat SIU-Edwardsville 73-69 on Wednesday night.

SIU-Edwardsville had a four-point lead at the 7:26 mark. Belmont answered with a 9-2 surge to take a 71-68 lead with 1:27 left. The Cougars pulled within 71-69 before Belmont's Amanze Egekeze made a pair of free throws to make it 73-69 with 14 seconds left.

Bradshaw made 8 of 16 shots from the floor. Evan Bradds added 19 points and 11 rebounds for Belmont (10-5, 2-0 Ohio Valley). The Bruins entered averaging 10.3 treys per game, but shot just 4 of 19 from long range.

Rozell Nunn had 15 points, Kris Davis scored 14 and Jake Newton chipped in 11 for SIU-Edwardsville (6-8, 2-1), which had its five-game winning streak snapped. Keaton Jackson added 10 points with a career-high 11 rebounds.
