Balance leads UNC Wilmington past Towson 74-68

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) Dylan Sherwood and Marcus Bryan scored 14 points apiece and North Carolina Wilmington earned a share of the Colonial Athletic Association title with a 74-68 win over Towson on Saturday.

Chris Flemmings and Denzel Ingram added 11 points apiece for the Seahawks (22-7, 14-4), who pulled away down the stretch.

Ingram's 3-pointer with 7:45 remaining, followed by a Sherwood layup and 3-pointer, gave Wilmington a nine-point lead with 6:21 to go. The Tigers made just three of their last 14 shots. Wilmington, which entered the game tied with Hofstra, made 10 of 13 free throws in the second half while the Tigers were 5 of 11. The Seahawks split the season-series with Hofstra, who faced sixth-place Charleston later in the day.

John Davis had 16 points and 11 rebounds for Towson (20-11, 11-7). Byron Hawkins added 15 points and Jordan McNeil 12.
