Auburn survives wild finish, beats Georgia 84-81

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) TJ Lang scored a career-high 21 points and T.J. Dunans and Bryce Brown made key free throws late to help Auburn survive an 84-81 victory over Georgia on Wednesday night.

The Tigers (11-16, 5-10 Southeastern Conference), who had lost eight of their last nine games, built a 19-point lead late in the first half. Kenny Gaines hit three 3-pointers in a 20-second span to give the Bulldogs (14-12, 7-8) a chance in the final seconds.

His third made it 77-74 with 23 seconds remaining against the short-handed Tigers, setting up a wild finish.

Dunans and Georgia's J.J. Frazier traded four free throws, with Dunans picking up his fifth foul. Frazier, who scored 29 points, then hit a quick 3-pointer to cut the margin to 82-81 with 6 seconds left. Auburn freshman Bryce Brown hit two foul shots with 3.8 seconds left and Georgia couldn't get another point.
