Martavius Adams had 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead Arkansas State to a 63-47 victory against fading North Texas on Thursday night.

Donald Boone scored 12 points and Edward Townsel 10 for the Red Wolves (16-14, 10-5 Sun Belt), who remained in a tie for first in the conference's West Division with Louisiana-Lafayette, which beat Denver in overtime on Thursday.

George Odufuwa had 12 points and 14 rebounds for North Texas (17-10, 6-8), which has lost six of its last seven, putting a 13-2 start - the Mean Green's best since 1952-53 - further in the rearview mirror.

North Texas committed a season-high 20 turnovers, and giveaways on three consecutive possessions sparked an 11-1 Arkansas State run that gave the Red Wolves a 47-40 advantage with eight minutes to play.
