Arkansas 86, Grambling St. 44
Arkansas' four freshmen combined to score 53 points and the Razorbacks beat Grambling State 86-44 Saturday night.
BJ Young scored a game-high 18 points, Rashad Madden scored 15, and Hunter Mickelson and Devonta Abron each added 10 for Arkansas (4-1).
Young, Madden and Abron each recorded career-highs in scoring, while Mickelson had a career-high eight rebounds.
The Razorbacks used a 20-0 run early in the first half to stake a commanding 27-5 lead and never trailed.
Arkansas used a tenacious full-court press to force a season-high 27 turnovers, which it converted into 39 points. The Tigers failed to extend the ball past midcourt during one three-possession stretch in the second half.
Thanks in large part to the turnovers, the Razorbacks hit 44 percent of their shots and outscored Grambling 22-0 in transition.
Roman Higgins scored 16 points to lead the Tigers (0-5).
