American basketball coach Jeff Jones has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the school through the 2015-16 season.
Jones has been the Eagles' coach since 2000. He led AU to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA tournament in 2008 and 2009, and his 182 wins are the most in the program's history.
American finished last season with a 22-9 record.
Jones already had a contract through the 2013-2014 season. The new extension was announced Wednesday night.

The Eagles open their season at Richmond on Nov. 11.
