Kendrick McDonald scored 16 points and Ian Francis had 12 points and 15 rebounds, leading Alcorn State to an 84-53 victory over Rust College on Tuesday night.
KeDorian Sullivan added 14 points, Xavian Rimmer 11 and Jarvis Moore 10 for the Braves (3-8), who shot 52.2 percent (36 of 69) from the field to 33.9 percent (19 of 56) for the Bearcats (4-5), a Division III team.
William Montgomery scored 14 points and Larry Veasley 11 for Rust, which attempted 24 shots from 3-point range but made just five.
Alcorn State, which led 39-25 at halftime, outrebounded Rust 37-27.

The Braves were coming off a 60-46 loss to Nebraska in which they trailed by just one point with 8:04 left.
