Gerardo Suero scored 24 points to lead Albany (N.Y.) in a 63-45 win over New Hampshire Saturday in the quarterfinal round of the Colonial Athletic Conference tournament.

The fourth-seeded Great Danes (19-13), who had a first-round bye, advanced to the semifinals on Sunday.

Mike Black added 11 points for Albany, which outshot the Wildcats 42.1 percent (8 of 19) to 26.3 percent (5 of 19) from 3-point range in the win. Both Suero and Jacob Iati drained three treys apiece.

The 3-ball was a major difference in this one as, with it tied 13-all with 7:45 before halftime, Iati and Jayson Guerrier hit consecutive long balls to spark a 17-8 Great Danes run into the locker room. They led the rest of the way, taking a nine-point lead at the break and outscoring New Hampshire 33-24 in the second half.
