Alabama St. takes SWAC title from Jackson St.

Andrew Hayles was tired of sitting on the bench - and of losing to Jackson State - in the Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament.

Hayles rebounded from early foul trouble to make three 3-pointers during a pivotal stretch and lift Alabama State to a 65-58 victory over the Tigers on Saturday night in the Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament championship game.
