Alabama A&M rolls past Prairie View 72-65

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) Nicholas West scored 19 points with four rebounds and six blocks as Alabama A&M defeated Prairie View 72-65 on Saturday night.

Brandon Ellis had 13 points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs (11-14, 8-7 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Arthur Capers added 11 points and Justan Banks had eight points with six rebounds.

The Bulldogs hit 45.7 percent from the field overall, 52.4 percent from the line and 70.4 percent from 3-point range.

Alabama A&M went 14-3 to start the contest, led 30-25 at halftime and had no trouble pacing Prairie View in the second half for the win, handing the Panthers their fourth-straight conference loss.

Montrael Scott led the Panthers (8-19, 6-9) with 15 points. Louis Munks added 14 points and six rebounds.
