Maurice Kemp scored 19 points and Alabama A&M held off Oakwood for an 86-81 win on Monday night. With the Bulldogs (1-1) ahead 82-81, Desmond Jackson scored on a tip-in with 12 seconds to play and Casey Cantey sealed the win two free throws with 5 seconds left. Alabama A&M led 80-70 with 3 minutes left in the game, but the Ambassadors (5-3) scored 10 straight to tie the game on a basket by Landon Bertram with 55 seconds remaining. Marcus Lee and Cornelius Hester scored 14 points each for the Bulldogs and Bo Amusa added 12. Alabama A&M led 45-41 at halftime and shot 54.8 percent from the field (17 of 31) in the second half. Bertram led the Ambassadors with 24 points and 17 rebounds, going 10 of 22 from the field. Ronald Bushner finished with 17 points and Brandon Broome and Kareem Telesford added 12 each for Oakwood.
