Nikola Cvetinovic scored 27 points and Brett McClanahan had a double-double to help Akron beat Youngstown State 91-84 on Saturday night.

McClanahan finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Zips (2-1), who sent the game into overtime when McClanahan knocked down a 3-pointer as time expired in regulation. Zeke Marshall had 22 points and eight rebounds.

In a game that was tied 18 times, Youngstown State took an 82-79 lead on a 3-pointer by Ashen Ward, who finished with 14 points. But the Penguins (2-1) were unable to hold on to their lead as Akron pulled ahead for good on Cvetinovic's two free throws.

Darryl Roberts scored 11 points and had six rebounds for Akron, which shot 55.6 percent (30 for 54) from the floor.

Vytas Sulskis led Youngstown State with 20 points and seven rebounds. Devonte Maymon had 14 points and Kendrick Perry added 11.
