HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) Southern Mississippi basketball players Shadell Millinghaus and Dallas Anglin are no longer with the program.

The school issued a short statement confirming the two players had been ''released from the men's basketball program, effective immediately.''

Coach Doc Sadler said via text message that neither departure was related to the NCAA's current investigation of the men's basketball program. Sadler said Millinghaus' reason for leaving was playing time while Anglin's was family issues.

The 6-foot-2 Millinghaus had played in all seven games this season for the Golden Eagles (4-3), starting six. He averaged 8.6 points per game. The 6-foot-2 Anglin had played in six games, starting one, and averaged six points per game.
