UFC's McGregor on Mayweather: I'd 'kill him in less than 30 seconds'
Floyd Mayweather continues to be a target for MMA fighters as he trains for his much-anticipated boxing bout against Manny Pacquiao.
Conor McGregor is the latest UFC star to take a jab at Mayweather, following in the footsteps of Ronda Rousey, who recently visited Pacquiao at his home to again pledge her support for the underdog prior to his May 2 megafight against Mayweather.
McGregor, never one to shy away from bold and controversial statements, was asked about Mayweather in the latest issue of Esquire magazine. And he pulled no punches.
"I don't look at a man who's expert in one area as a specialist," McGregor told Esquire. "I look at him as a rookie in 10 other areas. If you can box, what happens if I grab hold of your legs? If you put me face-to-face with Floyd Mayweather — pound-for-pound boxing's best — if I fought Floyd, I would kill him in less than 30 seconds. It would take me less than 30 seconds to wrap around him like a boa constrictor and strangle him."
