SKorean amateur boxing chief quits amid dispute
South Korea's Olympic Committee says the chairman of the Korea Amateur Boxing Federation has resigned amid a dispute over his qualifications.
The committee announced the resignation of Yoo Jae-joon in a statement Thursday.
The Olympic Committee declined to ratify Yoo for the post in December despite his re-election. It cited his disputes with the International Boxing Association (AIBA) over his competence and qualifications.
The committee hoped the resignation will ''improve relations with the AIBA, normalize operations, and pose no difficulties for South Korean boxers in competing at international events.''
