LIVERPOOL, England -- Scott Quigg successfully defended his WBA super bantamweight belt a fifth time with a unanimous points win against Hidenori Otake of Japan on Saturday.

Quigg (30-0-2, 22 KO) wobbled Otake (22-2-3, 9 KO) in the second round, opened a cut around his left eye in the 10th, and landed a fierce left hook in the 11th, but the British fighter had to settle for a one-sided decision.

Also, Jamie McDonnell (25-2-1, 12 KO) retained his WBA bantamweight title after Javier Chacon of Argentina (20-3-0, 5 KO) retired midway through their 10th round with a shoulder injury.
