Amateur boxer allegedly shot, killed rival because he couldn't beat him
An amateur boxer in Florida allegedly shot and killed a longtime rival because he couldn’t beat him in a fight.
Darrell Telisme, 24, shot and killed Stan Stanisclasse, 23, early Thanksgiving morning because he resented the fact that Stanisclasse was better, stronger and beat him in every fight they had, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
The two men had reportedly known each other and sparred since 2010. Stanisclasse’s career progressed quickly and he turned professional, while Telisme’s stalled out.
On Wednesday, the pair went out for dinner with a third man, and the two boxers debated who was stronger. They decided to fight and Stanisclasse once again beat him, which apparently drove Telisme to return to Stanisclasse’s apartment at 4 a.m. to shoot him.
According to the Palm Beach Post, a witness heard Stanisclasse shout, “The fight is over, it’s squashed” from inside his home.
Telisme is being held without bail and is charged with first-degree murder and carrying a concealed weapon.
