Looking at a box score is something anyone can do. Who lead my team in scoring? How’d we shoot from the field? And while that knowledge is useful, does it really earn you bonus points around the water cooler? That’s why I’m here. I’m bringing you the S.W.I.M: Statistics Worth Increased Media. Let Joe from accounting regurgitate what he heard on the way in this morning; you’re better than that. Use these nuggets to gain a unique perspective about last night’s Pelicans/Thunder game.

The Thunder have won ten straight home games in which Derek Fisher has made a three pointer: they’ve lost the last two such road games.

Serge Ibaka now has more games this season with five-plus blocks than he does with ten-plus FGM.

Kevin Durant had multiple blocks on the road three times in a week in December. He’s blocked at least two shots in nine games since then, only one of which has been on the road.

Russell Westbrook turned the ball over only one time in this one, giving him a total of two turnovers in his last 61 minutes of action. It had been more than a month since the last time he turned the ball over fewer than two times in a single game.

Caron Butler poured in 23 points and made ten field goals in front of the home crowd against the Nuggets on March 24th. In his four games since, he’s made a total of ten shots from the field.

A healthy Westbrook is nice, but a productive Reggie Jackson is the type of depth it takes to win important games. The back-up point guard had his fourth game this month with ten-plus points, four-plus rebounds, and four-plus assists.

The Pelicans remained winless on the season when Alexis Ajinca attempts at least four free throws.

For only the second time this year, and the first time since January 21st, Austin Rivers made multiple three pointers and free throws.

Rivers has now recorded more rebounds in his last two games than he did in any of the first three months of this season.

Jeff Withey has appeared in 55 games this season, yet 19.1% of his field goal attempts have come in the last two games.

It had been more than a month since the last time Tyreke Evans made a three pointer and all of his free throws in the same game.
