The San Antonio Spurs suffered a major scare Sunday afternoon, when guard Tony Parker left the team’s 112-92 win over the Memphis Grizzlies early with an injury.

The Spurs will find out just how severe this injury is on Monday.

Parker is scheduled to have an MRI Monday on his injured back, reports the San Antonio Express-News.

The Spurs lost Parker in the first quarter of Sunday’s game when he left with back spasms.

"We just have to hope it’s a couple-of-days thing," Manu Ginobili said, according to the Express-News. "Of course we are a different team with him. We need him healthy and strong for the playoffs."

The Spurs currently have the best record in the NBA and sit 4 1/2 games ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference.

San Antonio returns to the court on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
