Ray Lewis: Something’s ‘really wrong’ if Reed is inactive vs. Ravens

If Texans’ safety Ed Reed doesn’t play against his former team, the Baltimore Ravens, on Sunday, his injury is more serious than anyone thought.

At least that’s the theory retired Raven Ray Lewis is telling the media, according to the Houston Chronicle.

“I would be (surprised),” Lewis said. “I would be, because then that would tell me that his injury hasn’t totally healed yet. “

Reed said Tuesday in an interview with Rich Eisen that he’s still “day-to-day and week-to-week.”

Gary Kubiak announced Monday that the teams was close to activating him against the Titans during Week 2 after Reed when through a pregame warmup session.

“Because if he can’t go the third week into the regular season — that’s what they got him there for — if he can’t go, then there’s still something really wrong,” Lewis added.

Lewis will be at the game Sunday for his induction into the Raven’s Ring of Honor, which will take place at halftime.
