Holy Cow! Rangers’ Holland hits marks in pizza commercial

Give Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland credit for making the most of his down time.

The left-hander, who is in the Metroplex recovering from microfracture knee surgery, recently filmed a commercial for Pie Five, a pizza restaurant franchise which has several locations in Texas.

In the spot, Holland does impersonations of baseball announcer Harry Caray and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Holland filmed the spot after having the surgery on his left knee but said the knee injury didn’t hamper him during the shooting.

Acting is becoming old hat for Holland. He’ll have a brief appearance in "Dumb and Dumber To" — which is scheduled to release in November.

Holland is going to have to put is acting career on hold soon though and return to his day job. He’s off crutches and walking on his own following the January surgery and is expected to head to Surprise, Ariz., for spring training in early March.
