Report: Thunder’s Reggie Jackson requests to be traded

There is just a little more than 24 hours to go before the trade deadline and for the first time it’s been confirmed what most were thinking all along.

Reggie Jackson wants to be traded.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Jackson’s agent informed the team and general manager Sam Presti that Jackson wants to be dealt before the trade deadline Thursday.

Jackson answered questions Wednesday at Thunder practice but didn’t comment on the trade situation.

Since this past offseason, when the team and Jackson couldn’t come to a contract extension, Jackson has said he wants to be a starter. However, coach Scott Brooks has no intention of making Jackson a starter in a lineup that features Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

Meanwhile, Jackson has lost minutes to Dion Waiters, who was acquired earlier this season from Cleveland.

Jackson will be a restricted free agent in July.
