The first half of the Pelicans matchup with the Heat in Miami proved costly.

Both Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson went down with injuries before halftime and did not return for the remainder of the contest.

Davis re-aggravated his right shoulder sprain in a collision with Hassan Whiteside under the basket. The 21-year-old hunched over in pain, then walked straight back to the Pelicans’ locker room without returning to the bench.

Moments later, as the medical staff was x-raying Davis’ shoulder,  Mario Chalmers and Ryan Anderson got tangled mid air.

Chalmers came down hard on Anderson’s shin/high ankle area. After Anderson was helped off the court, X rays revealed a sprain in his right knee.
